Threads Ads Just Got Easier to Manage (Thanks Meta!)
Alright, if you're running ads or managing socials for clients, this one’s for you.
Meta just made it a lot easier to run ads on Threads by officially adding Threads Feed Ads to their Marketing API. Translation? Third-party tools and social media schedulers can now support Threads ads, making it way easier for marketers (hi 👋) to plug these placements into existing ad campaigns.
So, what does that actually mean for us?
Well, for regular users—not much. You’ll still see Threads ads show up the same way they have been, sprinkled into your home feed. But for anyone managing multiple campaigns across platforms, this is a game-changer. No more manual workarounds. It’s now all inside the API—aka your favorite social media tools can help you push Threads ads live without losing your mind.
Here’s what Meta said (in their very Meta way):
“On May 19, 2025, we’re expanding Marketing API support to include ads in Threads. Ads in Threads can help you extend your existing ad campaigns to the growing community on Threads.”
Key word here? Extend. You can reuse your ad creative, keep the same objectives (Reach, Traffic, and Website Conversions), and still stay on-brand. Nothing wild or new to learn—just more exposure.
🎯 A few things to keep in mind:
You need a Threads profile to run ads (makes sense).
Threads ads won’t run solo—you also need to include Instagram Feed as part of the placement.
Single image ads only (for now), and those ultra-tall graphics? They’ll be cropped center.
No 3rd-party comment moderation yet. So if you’re running big campaigns, keep an eye on those replies manually.
And in case you’re still not sold—Meta says Threads has 350 million users, and 75% of them are already following at least one business. That’s a lot of eyeballs potentially seeing your stuff.
So, is Threads the new secret sauce for your ad strategy? Maybe. At the very least, this update makes it a whole lot easier to find out.
